Planning Your Dog’s Birthday Party - The Basics
So you have decided to throw your dog a birthday party….Woof! Woof! That is doggie speak for congratulations! In this post, you will find some basic tips that will come in handy and help to ensure that your dog’s birthday party is a howling success!
Guest List
First, and probably most important, the guest list! How many dogs are you going to invite? Are you going to send invitations? If so, how (email, snail-mail, simple phone call)? The location of your party will play a major role in how many dogs you will be able to accomodate.
Stay Active
What games will your doggie guests participate in while at the party? It is important that you have some form of entertainment planned so that your canine friends stay active and engaged. Whether it be planned doggie activities, such as an agility course, or simply chasing tennis balls, be sure to have something for your four legged guests to do!
Chow Time
What type of birthday cake will you be serving? Will you make your own cake or buy one from a dog friendly bakery? Check out Kylie’s Low-Fat, Cream Cheese Birthday Cake! It is easy to make and your guests will beg for more!
Party Favors
Take home party favors are a wonderful way to say “Thank you for coming!” Guests (especially the humans) will appreciate your thoughtfulness. Craft and dollar stores are great places to find inexpensive party favors such as tennis balls and other dog toys. Another great idea is to send your guests home with a small bag of homemade dog treats! Try making Birthday Basic Dog Cookies!
Don’t Forget the Humans
Though the guest of honor may be your dog, it is important to remember the human guests! Be sure to have drinks and snacks available that are people friendly!
It’s YOUR DOG’S Day!
It is your dog’s birthday….so make him stand out from the rest of the pack! Buy him a special birthday doggie collar or a birthday bandana! Spruce him up and make him the top dog at his birthday party!
Throwing a dog birthday party is fun and easy! It is a great way to celebrate your furry friend and make him feel extra special and well loved. Check back soon for more great dog party ideas!
